LSD is available for free as open source code. The main repository is stored in GitHub where you can find the system files, manuals, example models, etc.
The Reame.txt file describes how to install the required packages for Windows, MacOS and Linux.
LSD requires several packages (compiler, libraries, etc.) that may not be available on some systems. Using the installer for your operative system ensures that every required component is correctly installed.
